There is a little girl in Cam's dance class (I'll call her L) that really shouldn't be there. It's been 2 and half months now and not once have I seen "L" do what she is suppose to. They all have a square on the floor that they stand on when they dance and she is never on her square. I have not seen her dance at all either. She just walks around the room and in between the girls when they are dancing. The teacher tells "L" all the time to get on her square and it's as though "L" doesn't even hear her.

Well it is getting to be very disruptive to the class. Yesterdays class was very frustrating for me to watch. The girls spent a lot of time standing and sitting around while the teacher waited for "L" to either get on her square, or just do what she was suppose to do. At one point the teacher spent about 3 minutes explaining to "L" why she wasn't going to get a sticker and because the girl is oblivious to the teacher, the 'explaining' just went on and on. Most of the girls in the class are 3 and 4 and it was obvious they were getting bored and antsy. I don't think it is fair to them to have to wait on "L" all the time. It is very obvious that "L" does not need to be in dance class right now. She is only 2 and doesn't seem to have a care in the world about dancing. Her mother watches and constantly makes comments about her daughter not doing what she should be doing, and she goes in the class and threatens the girl all the time and nothing works. Why? Because she is a 2 year old that isn't interested in dance class right now. The mother is just wasting her money, not to mention wasting the money of the other parents whose girls are spending just as much time waiting around then they are dancing.

11 weeks of the her doing nothing in the class, I'd say we are beyond the adjustment phase. Why not take her out? I just don't get it. I have thought about asking if I can move Cam to a different class day, but she has made friends with all the girls in class and she is comfortable with them. I don't think it would be any more fair to move her. I guess I will wait out the rest of the year and see what happens. Maybe the mom will finally get a clue.

I meant to comment on this earlier .....

Why would someone enroll a 2 year old in a dance class? Really? A 2 year old!!

But of course what do I know :-)
