The cat and dog are coming along in their friendship. We have kept them pretty much separate since bringing Oly home. We keep Oly in our bedroom and let him out a few times a day while Kasper is outside. Or we stick Kasper in our room and let Oly out. We have been bringing Oly into the living room in his crate as well so that the 2 of them can see and smell each other. Today Oly was under our bed so I decided to let the dog in. I was not expecting Oly to come out from under the bed, but he did. The 2 of them did a lot of sniffing and staring and waking in circles, but no brawls (unlike the other 2 times we tried to get them together). I have had them together for over an hour now and Oly is sitting behind me in the window and Kasper is just pacing back and forth checking on him every now and then. The biggest thing Kasper has to learn is that he can not go after Oly when Oly leaps or runs by him. I think Kasper views this as playing and he gets over excited and a little too aggressive. This is a 60+ pound dog verses a 2 pound cat.
