Oh My Heavenly Stars!

Cameron and I made a super easy and delicious Nilla Apple Crisp tonight. It's 4 points for 1/2 cup according to the nutrition facts on the recipe, but I am going to double check that with the ingredients I used. Even if it is 4 points, it is well worth it for an evening treat! Here is the recipe from the winter 2007 Kraft Food & Family Magazine.

3-4 Large Granny Smith Apples
1/2 Cup Packed Brown Sugar
2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
1/3 Cup Old Fashion Or Quick Cooking Oats
1/4 Cup Cold Margarine
25 Reduced Fat Nilla Wafers, Crushed

Preheat oven 350 degrees
Toss apple slices with 1/4 cup brown sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon. Spoon into an 8 or 9 inch square baking dish .

Combine oats, 1/4 cup brown sugar and 1 tsp of cinnamon in medium bowl. Cut in margarine with pastry blender or 2 knives, until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add wafer crumbs and mix well. Spread crumb mixture evenly over apples.

Bake 30-35 minutes or until apples are tender. Serve warm or cooled. Top with ice cream or cool whip (add those points though if you are counting.)
