The Stampin Up retired accessory list was released over night. After viewing the 2 page list this morning I checked in on my yahoo demo groups and 2 message board with Demo areas. Wowzer! I'm not sure if there are enough chill pills to go around today. The biggest problem seems to be people jumping the gun, not taking the time to read the note from SU and just going straight for the retired list. By doing so people assumed they were retiring all the 12x12 classic color paper and all the grosgrain ribbon. Not the case. Had they taken a moment to read they would have known that the 12x12 paper and the ribbon are going to be packaged and sold differently. They aren't doing away with them.
Others are spitting mad because they bought large quantities of things like the designer series paper or the simply scrappin kits. I am a little confused why someone would 'stock up' on something like that in the first place?? Consider it a lesson learned - don't buy stuff like that unless you know you are going to need it.
There is a big SU convention coming up at the end of July and a lot of card swapping is done. A lot of those swapping are making 100-200 cards so they needed to start early. Now they are freaking out because they have used accessories on their swaps that are now on the retired list. I don't think it is that big of a deal. I look at swaps like that as a way to get ideas. If something is no longer available then remake the card omitting that product or replacing it with something else. It's really not the end of the world. If using silver cord on your swap card is the most of your worries then consider yourself lucky.
