Oooh, So Close

For nearly 2 weeks Cameron has been asking to see Santa. She said she wanted to sit on his lap and tell him what she wanted for Christmas. Anyone who knows Cameron knows that this request is very uncharacteristic of her. She wasn't timid at all to observe Santa from a few feet away as she demonstrated last year when Santa was at Eastchase. So I figured she is a year older now and maybe she really will sit on Santa's lap. So I got her dressed in her Christmas dress and off to the mall we went first thing this morning. There was just a small line waiting to see the big guy and she could see him sitting in his big green chair. After about a minute and a half in line she backed out. She didn't want to see Santa. No Christmas miracle this year. No biggie though. I am not going to be one of those parents who makes their kid sit on Santa's lap while they are screaming at the top of their lungs just so they can get a picture. I don't want to scar her for all the Christmas' to come.

So we settled for a picture at the fountain with the skating snowman. :o)

Well darn. If she never decides to sit in his lap that is fine too. Santa can be a little intimadating(sp?). She only gets to see him once a year so it is completely understandable.

At least you didn't make her sit in his lap like some parents do. That's just cruel to the child and to the guy in the suit!
